Jason Momoa’s Street Fighter Character Revealed

After it was announced that Jason Momoa would be in the Street Fighter film, details about his character in the upcoming version of the game series have been hinted at. Additionally, Momoa is set to appear in another prominent franchise, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, where he will play Lobo in a new DC movie.

What is known about Jason Momoa’s Blanka?

Journalist Borys Kit claims that Jason Momoa is rumored to take on the role of the green-skinned jungle dweller Blanka, who debuted in Capcom’s Street Fighter II video game back in 1991. Known as a wild man from the Brazilian rainforest, Blanka has an interesting history – Robert Mammone portrayed him in the 1994 live-action adaptation, but the character was later merged with another Street Fighter character, Charlie, from the Street Fighter Zero game.

In the forthcoming Street Fighter film, Kitao Sakurai (known for Bad Trip) is slated as director, having penned the script alongside Dalan Musson. Previously, Sakurai has demonstrated his knack for game adaptations by helming episodes of the Peacock series Twisted Metal. The star-studded cast will feature Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, and Roman Reigns; it’s rumored that Koji and Centineo will portray Ryu and Ken respectively.

As a devoted fan, I’m eagerly awaiting more details about the upcoming project’s storyline, which is currently being kept under close guard. Prior to Sakurai’s involvement, the directing duo Danny and Michael Philippou of Talk to Me and Bring Her Back were initially tapped to helm the film. At this point, Legendary hasn’t announced an official theatrical release date yet.
