Stephen Graham says Adolescence Season 2 is still “a possibility.”
The TV series “Adolescence” was developed by Jack Thorne and Graham and debuted on Netflix in March 2025. In this production, Graham portrays Eddie Miller, while the story centers around a 13-year-old boy named Jamie (Owen Cooper), who is accused of murder.
Initially planned as a brief, four-part series, Adolescence may be getting an extension, according to recent reports from Deadline. It seems that Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment, is in discussions with director Philip Barantini about potential future developments for the show.

In a conversation, Graham mentioned that there could be a second season for “Adolescence,” although he considers the success of the first season to be an extraordinary, one-time occurrence.
He commented, “We hit right at the pulse of the times.” Essentially, what you’ve created has gained massive global popularity. To put it simply, it reached the top spot not only in Brazil but also in Saudi Arabia.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my eagerness. If given the chance, would I jump at another season of Adolescence? Absolutely! And with a brand-new tale to tell? You bet!
When asked if Season 2 of Adolescence might focus on Katie’s family (the girl who was killed in the first season), Graham stated, “In a typical drama, we would delve into Katie’s story and explore her family’s aftermath. But I felt that we’ve already seen that narrative quite often. Instead, we wanted to present an unexplored perspective, which is something new.
I aimed to verify that Jamie didn’t grow up in a home where the mother had an alcohol problem, the father was violent, or he suffered abuse from one of his uncles. To clarify, such circumstances are often depicted in typical dramas, which is reasonable. However, I wanted to explore different themes and discover what other elements might be hidden within our story.
