New Thunderbolts* concept art gives Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova a totally different MCU costume.
I’m absolutely thrilled to share that I’ve just stepped out of a Marvel spectacle – the Thunderbolts* is currently gracing screens across U.S. cinemas! Joining Florence Pugh, this action-packed adventure also features Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman as Bob Reynolds/Sentry, Geraldine Viswanathan as Mel, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Don’t miss out on this extraordinary ensemble!
What does Yelena Belova’s costume look like in the Thunderbolts* concept art?
On Instagram, Marvel artist Ji Hye Lee posted some design sketches displaying Pugh’s character wearing a distinct costume compared to what she sports in the film.
I’ve created several different designs for Yelena in the New Avengers (Thunderbolts)! I had such a blast coming up with these concepts. Which one do you prefer? It was an honor to collaborate with so many talented artists, under the guidance of @andyparkart. Keep an eye out for the Thunderbolts art book, featuring more stunning work from all contributing artists who worked on the film.

In the movie’s plotline, Marvel Studios brings together an unusual gang of antiheroes – Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker. The story goes that they are all caught in a deadly trap created by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. These disenchanted outcasts are then compelled to undertake a perilous journey, one that will make them confront the deepest secrets of their pasts. Will this troubled team fall apart or discover redemption and unite as something greater before it’s too late?
The movie “Thunderbolts” is helmed by director Jake Schreier. The screenplay for this film was written by Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo, with a storyline conceptualized by Pearson himself. Kevin Feige takes on the producer’s role, while Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, and Jason Tamez serve in executive production positions. To date, the movie has grossed approximately $330 million at the worldwide box office.
