The finale episode of Survivor Season 48 has aired on CBS, sparking curiosity among fans as they eagerly await to find out who emerged victorious in this long-running reality competition series. Initiated by Charlie Parsons and hosted by Jeff Probst, the show premiered on May 31, 2000. This season commenced on February 26, 2025, with a total of 18 contestants divided into three tribes: Siva, Lagi, and Vula. The five finalists who reached the finale night were Mitch Guerra, Kyle Fraser, Kamilla Karthigesu, Joe Hunter, and Eva Erickson, with one of these individuals ultimately taking home the title.
Here’s who won Survivor 48 and how much prize money they received.
Here’s who won Survivor 48
Kyle Fraser, a 30-year-old attorney from Brooklyn, New York, won Survivor 48.
As with the past fifteen seasons, Survivor 48 took place in the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji.
On the final competition night, Karthigesu emerged victorious during the initial immunity test. At the tribal council meeting, Guerra was sent home. Erickson possessed an immunity idol, ensuring his safety from votes. Later, Fraser triumphed in the last immunity challenge, advancing to the final three. He selected Hunter to accompany him, forcing Karthigesu and Erickson into a fire-making duel. In this contest, Erickson prevailed, ultimately eliminating Karthigesu from the competition.
This season’s jury panel consisted of Cedrek McFadden, Chrissy Sarnowsky, David Kinne, Star Toomey, Mary Zheng, Shauhin Davari, Mitch Guerra, and Kamilla Karthigesu. McFadden cast his vote for Hunter, while Toomey and Zheng both voted for Erickson. The remaining jurors—Chrissy, David, Shauhin, Mitch, and Kamilla—all chose Fraser. Consequently, it was Fraser who was declared the victor of Survivor 48.
How much prize money did Kyle Fraser get for winning Survivor 48?
After winning Survivor 48 with a 5-2-1 jury vote, Fraser received the $1 million prize.
Initially, Fraser was part of the Siva tribe at the start of the season, but he subsequently joined the Vula group. Notably, Fraser is the first Guyanese person and the sixth contestant with African ancestry to emerge victorious in Survivor and claim the grand prize.
