The director has opted to keep details about this villain under wraps. With a release date set for July 11, 2025, Superman boasts David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan portraying Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult stepping into the shoes of Lex Luthor, and several other notable actors joining the cast.
Ultraman confirmed to be Superman’s mystery villain
It’s said that Superman will face off with Ultraman in an upcoming DC Universe film. The latest DC action figurine suggests that the enigmatic figure seen escorting a handcuffed Superman in the trailer is indeed Ultraman.
The initial reveal of the action figure was shared by the page DCU Updates on X (previously known as Twitter). In their post, they stated, “Here’s a fantastic preview of the ULTRAMAN figure associated with ‘SUPERMAN’.

The trailer may suggest that Ultraman’s suit is black, but the action figure reveals it to be a mix of purple and gray instead. Furthermore, the identity of the actor playing the role in the film remains undisclosed at this point.
Ultraman is a powerful character within the DC comics, often portrayed as an evil counterpart to Superman on Earth-3. He leads a criminal organization in his universe and derives his abilities from Kryptonite. Yet, fans think the movie version of this character might differ significantly from the comic book version, possibly more like Superman in terms of powers.
Additionally, certain enthusiasts are engaging in discussions about whether the character could potentially be a metahuman adversary of Superman, known as Parasite.
