Mark Ruffalo & Singer Role Model Join Natalie Portman’s Netflix Rom-Com Movie

In a recent announcement, Netflix has revealed that two male actors have been cast to star alongside Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman in the upcoming romantic comedy movie titled “Good Sex“. This production comes from Lena Dunham, a winner of multiple Golden Globes (most notably for her work on “Girls” and “Tiny Furniture”).

In the official summary for the film, it’s stated that Ally, a seasoned couples therapist who has just turned 40 after enduring a ten-year unsuccessful relationship, is being coaxed by her best friend to dive back into the challenging world of dating in New York City. However, her life becomes complicated when she develops a passionate fling with a young hipster from Brooklyn while simultaneously starting a promising, more traditional relationship with Alan, a successful man in his 50s from Manhattan. As Ally reaches a romantic crossroads that evolves into an identity crisis, she struggles to maintain distance between these two contrasting men and reconcile her own conflicting feelings before potentially losing both of them.

Who is joining Natalie Portman’s Netflix rom-com movie?

Mark Ruffalo (known for his roles in The Kids are All Right, Avengers: Endgame) and Tucker Pillsbury, who is also known as Role Model, have been chosen to co-star with Portman. Similar to Portman, this will be a return to the romantic comedy genre for Ruffalo after quite some time; he has previously acted in films like 13 Going on 30, Just Like Heaven, Rumor Has It, and Date Night. For Pillsbury, who is a singer-songwriter, this would be his first venture into feature acting.

The film will be penned and helmed by Lena Dunham. Not only will she star in it, but Portman will additionally take on the role of a producer. She’ll be joined in this endeavor by Sophie Mas, as they produce under their banner MountainA. Moreover, Dunham and Michael Cohen will also produce through their company Good Thing Going.
