In this film, where she co-stars with Robert Pattinson, Lawrence portrays a character dealing with madness and postpartum depression as a mother.

During a recent press conference at Cannes for “Die, My Love,” Jennifer Lawrence discussed how her personal experiences as a mother influenced the depiction of her character in the movie.
Speaking as a mother, I found it incredibly challenging to differentiate between my own actions and those of mine, Lawrence shared, further explaining that it was deeply distressing. She later described her postpartum experience following the birth of her first child with Cooke Maroney in 2022 as very isolating.” (via Variety)

As Lawrence pointed out, “However, it’s important to note that intense anxiety and deep depression can create a sense of isolation, regardless of the location. It makes you feel like an outsider,” she continued.
Afterward, Jennifer Lawrence disclosed that during the making of Die, My Love, she was actually expecting her second baby. She shared insights into how the arrival of her children significantly altered “every aspect” of her life. As reported by People, she gave birth to her second child with Maroney in March 2025.
This transformation impacts every aspect of your life, it’s both harsh and awe-inspiring,” Lawrence continued. The actress from No Hard Feelings then disclosed that her children played a role in her career choices. Moreover, they influenced her creatively. “I strongly suggest having kids if you aspire to be an actor,” Lawrence concluded.
In simpler terms, Robert Pattinson, who was present at the conference, mentioned that it’s quite challenging for a husband to determine his place in a relationship after a baby is born. He pointed out that his character in the movie wasn’t equipped with the right words to offer assistance.
In harmony with Lawrence’s thoughts on how parenthood transforms an individual, Pattinson expressed that the arrival of his daughter refreshed his perspective on acting. Additionally, he pointed out that he felt like a totally transformed person just the day after.
