Who is Ghattamaneni Jaya Krishna? Meet Mahesh Babu’s nephew debuting with RX 100 director Ajay Bhupathi

The illustrious Ghattamaneni family is about to introduce a fresh lead actor in Telugu cinema. Reminiscent of the legendary Krishna, his grandson Ghattamaneni Jaya Krishna prepares for his first role under the guidance of acclaimed director Ajay Bhupathi, who brought us RX 100. Let’s explore this promising newcomer.

Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni is the offspring of Mahesh Babu’s older sibling, the late film actor Ramesh Babu. Ramesh initially entered the Telugu film industry as a leading man in 1987, following some earlier appearances as a child performer.

Initially gracing the screen with Samrat, Ramesh Babu subsequently starred in 15 movies as the main character, such as Bazaar Rowdy, Mugguru Kodukulu, and others. But after taking on a secondary role in Encounter (released in 1997), he decided to leave acting behind.

In the year 1999, he moved into production work and embarked on a backstage career as an executive producer for Amitabh Bachchan’s film, Sooryavansham.

From then on, Ramesh Babu continued his work by making and showcasing four films where his younger sibling Mahesh Babu was the main character: Arjun, Athidhi, Dookudu, and Aagadu. For a brief period, he took a step back from public life. Tragically, the actor-producer lost his life at the age of 56 on January 8, 2022, as a result of liver disease.

Currently, some years have passed, and Ghattamaneni Jaya Krishna, the son of a previous individual and Mahesh Babu’s nephew, is poised to launch his career in Telugu cinema, working under the guidance of director Ajay Bhupathi. As per a report from The Economic Times, Jaya Krishna has been diligently honing his acting skills through rigorous training in the United States.

Based on several indications, it seems that he opted for Ajay Bhupathi to direct his upcoming venture, as numerous scripts were apparently evaluated in the process.
