As a passionate admirer, I can’t help but express my excitement for Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie, Thug Life, slated for release in 2025. In the build-up to its grand premiere on June 5, the team has unveiled the trailer, fueling our anticipation even more. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, but one specific scene has ignited a heated discussion online.
The questioned scene portrays a tender moment where Kamal Haasan and Abhirami share a kiss, with her comfortably lying on his chest. In another instance, he playfully tells Trisha, “Madam, I’m your only Adam.” These scenes have sparked mixed reactions; while some viewers found them superfluous, others appreciated the daring narrative approach.
At first, a lot of people online thought the actress was Trisha, but it turned out to be Abhirami, portraying the character of the veteran actor’s wife in the movie. Since there’s nearly a 30-year age difference between them, this scene sparked various responses on social media.
The issue here is that trailers often emphasize kissing and intimate moments to an excessive degree, making it seem ordinary. Let’s not overemphasize these aspects so much.
In a different post, someone commented, “It’s quite unusual for him to act out those scenarios with actresses who are nearly twice his age. Let’s not make such behaviors seem acceptable.
In response to another user’s comment, they stated, “These individuals are merely actors portraying roles on-screen. The issue seems to be that we perceive them as real people rather than characters. It’s a performance, after all. As far as I’m concerned, if they appear convincing on screen and the scene is well-executed, there’s no problem. To my eyes, they don’t seem out of place.

Peeking into the trailer for Thug Life, we get an authentic glimpse of the harsh, criminal underworld. Over the years, it portrays how everything evolves – families disintegrate, alliances transform, and power turns perilous.
In a different rendition: Kamal Haasan portrays an experienced mob boss. He adopts a young lad, instructing him in the ways of their world. As the years go by, the boy transforms into a formidable figure, depicted by Silambarasan TR. The two of them effectively control the criminal underworld, functioning like a finely tuned system. Their connection runs deep and resembles family ties rather than business partnerships.
In my expertise as a lifestyle advisor, I must say that as relationships progress, fissures can emerge. Newcomers may stir up complications, and an undercurrent of tension develops between the parties involved. The trailer suggests a growing mistrust, with each individual seemingly straying from their original path. As ambition escalates, so does the potential for conflict. This power struggle could ultimately lead to their separation.
