Paramount Pictures has made an official announcement that it’s shifting the cinema premieres of three eagerly awaited animated films: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2”, “The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender”, and “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie”. The latter two movies are now set for release in 2026, with “Mutant Mayhem 2” scheduled to hit theaters a year later, in 2027.
What are the new release dates for TMNT: Mutant Mayhem 2, The Legend of Aang, and Paw Patrol 3?
Initially set for a July 31, 2026 premiere, Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie has been moved up by a week to hit theaters on July 24, 2026. Although it won’t clash head-on with Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day at the box office, it will still be released in the same month as the Tom Holland sequel, the latest Evil Dead film, Minions 3, and the live-action adaptation of Moana.
Following a strange storm, the PAW Patrol team’s ship crashes onto an undiscovered tropical island teeming with dinosaurs. They encounter Rex, a dog who has been marooned there for quite some time and is now well-versed in all things dinosaur-related. In this new setting, their longtime adversary, Humdinger, starts carelessly mining the island for its resources. This rash action accidentally ignites a dormant volcano, which poses a grave threat to the island’s survival. The PAW Patrol find themselves in a series of massive rescue missions involving dinosaurs, as they race against time to halt Humdinger and save the island from extinction.
Regarding The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, the initial film from Avatar Studios under Nickelodeon has been delayed from its early 2026 release. Instead, it will now be shown in cinemas during fall of next year, specifically on October 9, 2026. Originally set for a January 30, 2026 debut, this much-awaited fantasy adventure movie has shifted its schedule.
The Legend of Aang film, taking place several years after the original series, focuses on the character Aang during his young adulthood. Notable actors such as Dave Bautista, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, and South Korean singer-songwriter Eric Nam lend their voices to bring the last surviving Airbender to life. Although there has been a delay in the movie’s release date, the studio has recently revealed an exciting new logo for the project.
The upcoming sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2, has been rescheduled by Paramount Pictures to hit theaters in 2027, specifically on September 17. Originally slated for an October 2026 release, the production under Seth Rogen’s supervision is now expected to premiere earlier.
In the upcoming sequel, Jeff Rowe will take the director’s chair once more. But this time, he’ll have help from co-directors Yashar Kassai and Kyle Spears. The voice cast will include familiar faces like Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Brady Noon as Raphael, and Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil.
