Universal Pictures has unveiled a trailer for the upcoming sequel titled “The Bad Guys 2“, following up on DreamWorks Animation’s 2022 comedy heist film. The new movie is set to hit theaters on August 1, 2025.
In the latest thrilling installment from DreamWorks Animation’s beloved comedy series featuring a bandit gang of animals turned outlaws, our formerly wicked crew is struggling to live on the right side of the law, only to be unwillingly drafted into an intricate, worldwide heist orchestrated by an unexpected group of wrongdoers – the Bad Girls, who have seemingly materialized out of thin air.

What happens in The Bad Guys 2 trailer?
In the video, we see the main characters, once notorious outlaws who are seeking redemption, attempting to secure new employment opportunities. Yet, their past as thieves makes this task challenging. To win over public trust, they decide to undermine a group of criminal women known as The Bad Girls and their devious schemes.
In the second installment of “The Bad Guys,” directors Pierre Perifel and JP Sans bring the story to life, inspired by the popular book series penned by Aaron Blabey. The new chapter sees the return of voice talents like Sam Rockwell (Mr. Wolf), Marc Maron (Mr. Snake), Craig Robinson (Mr. Shark), Anthony Ramos (Mr. Piranha), and Awkwafina (Ms. Tarantula, aka Webs). Newcomers to the cast include Danielle Brooks, Natasha Lyonne, Maria Bakalova, Zazie Beetz, Richard Ayoade, Lilly Singh, and Alex Borstein. Damon Ross produces this production, with Daniel Pemberton returning for another stint as the composer.
