Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR are ready for the premiere of their film titled Thug Life, set to debut on June 5, 2025. In anticipation of the release of this Mani Ratnam production, Kamal Haasan shared an anecdote about his first encounter with Simbu and his words of caution.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Kamal Haasan stated, “When someone like Simbu appears on set and others inform him that he’s collaborating with a legendary figure, as the ‘legend,’ it’s my duty to alleviate any pressure he might be feeling.
In a conversation, I reassured him, “Don’t worry about my role as an actor. Just focus on your performance.” He responded, “I appreciate that, sir, and I hope you also understand I’m not just a novice. Make sure you perform to the best of your ability too,” he concluded.
After being questioned regarding the decline of traditional institutions and the transition from old to new generations, the actor made his remarks. Responding to this, Kamal Haasan attributed his confidence to the youthful actors.
Furthermore, Kamal Haasan expressed his thoughts about how the accolades he receives today might appear commonplace in the future. He acknowledged this as a natural progression, stating, “Future generations will be taller because they’ll be standing on my shoulders. And I am content with that. This is what I received from my legends, and now it’s my turn to pass it on.
Speaking of Thug Life, the upcoming film featuring Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR is due to premiere in cinemas soon. This much-anticipated production marks a long-awaited collaboration between Haasan and Mani Ratnam, reminiscent of their earlier work together on Nayakan, which dates back many years.
The upcoming movie is rumored to be a high-octane action film with a diverse cast led by Trisha Krishnan, Sanya Malhotra, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Rohit Saraf, and several others.
As the launch date approaches, creators have revealed that they will be releasing the movie trailer on May 17th, 2025, and the music preview is scheduled for May 24th, 2025.
