Scarlett Johansson comments on Justin Baldoni’s studio amid lawsuit drama

As a dedicated fan, I’m sharing my perspective on Scarlett Johansson’s insights about working with Wayfarer Studios – a company co-founded by Justin Baldoni who’s currently involved in a legal tussle with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Notably, Wayfarer was instrumental in producing Scarlett’s directorial debut, Eleanor the Great, in partnership with Sony Pictures Classics.

Regarding Baldoni’s studio, Johansson shared with Vanity Fair that they were extremely helpful during the entire project. The actress also mentioned that she didn’t have an opportunity to meet Baldoni while filming since he was occupied with It Ends With Us. She added, “It was quite an unusual coincidence.” Eleanor the Great is slated for release towards the end of this year.

The comments by Johansson come amidst growing focus on the controversy between Baldoni and Lively, who previously acted together in It Ends With Us. Following the completion of filming, Lively alleged that Baldoni engaged in sexual harassment and cultivated an uncomfortable work environment. In response, he denied these claims and initiated a defamation lawsuit worth $400 million against both Lively and Reynolds, whom Johansson was married to between 2008 and 2011. Recently, Lively and Reynolds have requested the case be dismissed.

Simultaneously, Wayfarer Studios has been in the news due to its decision to shut down its philanthropic arm, the Wayfarer Foundation. Steve Sarowitz, one of the producers, announced this change in a post on Instagram, stating that “Following a unanimous decision by the board of directors, we are initiating the process of winding down the Foundation today.” They will take care of all outstanding obligations over the coming weeks. Sarowitz ended his message by saying, “Though the Wayfarer Foundation is ceasing operations, my personal pledge to philanthropy remains steadfast, and I am resolute in making a difference in society through continuous efforts and initiatives.
