Who Is Santino Casio, Tory Lanez Stabbing Suspect?

On Monday, May 12, Tory Lanez, also known as Daystar Peterson, suffered 14 stab wounds during an incident that has since been made public. The individual suspected of the attack, revealed to the media, is Santino Casio, who is currently serving a life sentence for murder in prison.

Who is Santino Casio?

An official from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) communicated with the New York Post about the incident and disclosed that they looked into Casio for stabbing Lanez. The occurrence allegedly transpired at a residential area within the California Correctional Institution (CCI), located in Tehachapi, Kern County, approximately 7:20 a.m. Pacific Time.

A representative from CDCR told the public that the facility personnel swiftly acted, triggered an emergency call (911), and initiated first-aid measures.

A representative from CDCR shared that officials transported Lanez to a local hospital shortly after, while Casio was moved to solitary confinement. Furthermore, they revealed that the CCI Investigation Team and the Kern County District Attorney’s Office are handling the ongoing investigation.

2023 saw Trevor Lanez receive a 10-year prison sentence following an incident three years prior where he shot Megan Thee Stallion. Updates on the incident, as well as his current health status, were shared via Lanez’s official Instagram account by his team. The post detailed that Lanez had sustained multiple injuries; seven wounds to his back and four to his torso, two wounds at the back of his head, and one wound on the left side of his face. His lungs had also collapsed, necessitating the use of a breathing apparatus temporarily. However, by the time the post was shared, Lanez was already breathing independently. The post further conveyed that despite experiencing pain, he was speaking normally, in high spirits, and expressing deep gratitude towards God for his recovery. He also expressed thanks to everyone for their ongoing prayers and support.
