Growing up, I was born on the 14th of July, 2000, right here in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts. But my story takes a turn when I was just four years old, as I found myself moving to Buenos Aires, Argentina, along with my family who trace their roots back to this vibrant land.

Right from her childhood days, she showed a strong enthusiasm towards music, regularly involving herself in singing and mastering several musical instruments like the guitar, piano, saxophone, and ukulele.

Katie Viqueira, her mother, serves as a vocalist and vocal coach while running her own Center for Vocal Art. Her father, Ezequiel Reficco, teaches at the University of Los Andes in Bogotá. She has a younger brother named Joaquín Reficco Viqueira who is also musically inclined.

Education

For nearly a decade and a half, Maia Reficco honed her skills in acrobatics. At the age of fifteen, she embarked on a new chapter in Los Angeles, residing with Claudia Brant for that period.

Through this chance, she got the rare privilege of learning to sing from Eric Vetro, who is known for coaching renowned musicians like Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes in their vocal skills.

Additionally, she participated in a five-week course at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her outstanding performance during this time granted her a scholarship.

Maia Reficco Career

Through Claudia Brant and Instagram, Maia Reficco got connected with the Nickelodeon Latin America initiative, Kally’s Mashup.

Brant took care of sharing online the cover versions of various artists that Reficco had produced, which ultimately led to her receiving an invitation from the production team for an audition.

Reficco tried out for the part using the tune ‘Dangerous Woman’ by Ariana Grande. Subsequently, she was offered and accepted the leading role in the series as Kally Ponce. Following this success, Reficco entered into an agreement with Deep Well Records and travelled to Miami to compose music for the show.

On October 19, 2017, she debuted at the Kids’ Choice Awards Argentina, performing the theme song ‘Key of Life’ for the show.

Last August, Reficco performed “World’s Collide” and “Unísono” with the cast of Kally’s Mashup at the Kids’ Choice Awards Mexico event.

In the very same month, I spilled the beans to Billboard Argentina about my solo project underway, a joint venture with a renowned label. Excitingly, I unveiled that my first album would straddle the lines of pop and R&B music.

At the 2018 edition of KCA Argentina, she teamed up with the Kally’s Mashup cast to perform the songs ‘World’s Collide’ and ‘Unísono’.

Afterward, on November 7, Maia Reficco made her appearance at the Meus Prêmios Nick 2018. During this event, she sang those songs again, but this time with Alex Hoyer and Lalo Brito for ‘Unísono’. On the same night, Reficco was honored with the title of ‘Favorite TV Artist’.

2022 saw her appear in the Netflix movie “Do Revenge” and portray the character Noa Olivar within the HBO Max series “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sins.
