Actor Sean Penn has spoken out on filmmaker Woody Allen, expressing that he’d be open to collaborating with him once more should the opportunity arise.

In a recent conversation on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Penn openly expressed his willingness to collaborate once more with Allen, who has faced accusations of sexual misconduct from his adoptive daughter, Dylan Farrow. However, he would do so without hesitation if the opportunity presented itself.
Penn expressed his fondness for that movie, stating he’d gladly collaborate with Allen given the right opportunity. He further discussed Allen’s controversial reputation and admitted he can’t definitively confirm any incidents, but has reservations about the reliability of those sharing such stories.
Does it seem to me that he has a negative reputation? Let me clarify, given these circumstances, I can’t definitively claim that I know someone well enough to assert whether specific incidents did or didn’t occur. After all, making such claims could potentially overlook a victim’s situation, correct? I haven’t reviewed everything, but the accounts mostly come from people whose credibility I question significantly. It seems there’s an overwhelming bias in these stories.
Theroux mentioned that most accusations against Allen originated from his adopted kids; meanwhile, Penn shared insights he gathered from listening to discussions by numerous psychologists.
In my eight decades of existence, I’ve never encountered anyone, whether they be clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, or simply acquaintances, discussing pedophilia as an infrequent occurrence once in a lifetime. This is not something I’m familiar with. When people attempt to link his relationships with girls who are significantly younger, the question of right or wrong isn’t the focus here. Discussions about post-puberty consensual relationships fall under a different category.
In 2014, journalist Ronan Farrow and Mia Farrow publicly criticized Woody Allen, with Ronan publishing an article outlining some of Dylan’s accusations against him. Allen refuted these allegations, and he has not been involved in Hollywood projects since the claims resurfaced in 2018.
