In a delightful new partnership, London design studio Buchanan Studio, in collaboration with Swiss furniture company USM, has introduced their first joint project, marked by the studio’s whimsical use of materials. This campaign, filled with nostalgia, contrasts beautifully with USM’s sleek and practical designs. The 11-piece collection, designed by Angus and Charlotte Buchanan, is showcased in a quaint English setting to highlight their charming design sensibilities.

In various Buchanan Studio projects, Angus Buchanan remarked, “We repeatedly rely on USM for our designs at the studio.” He went on to express appreciation for its adaptability in different interiors, stating, “The USM Haller system serves as a solid base for us to incorporate Buchanan Studio’s distinctive themes, colors, and materials, marking a significant milestone for us.

The USM Haller system serves as the base for the “TESSELLATE” series, which delves into themes of repetition, symmetry, and flexibility, all viewed through Buchanan’s unique perspective. Key items such as a stool, bench, coffee table, credenza, and bookcase are crafted in 50s-style checkerboard patterns in black and white, along with BS Pink and white. Additionally, upholstered seating options will be introduced, showcasing plush materials in Buchanan Studio’s Teddy, Studio Stripe, and Ticking Rose fabric designs.

In other locations, the designs at USM are enhanced with high-end marble countertops on items such as The Desk, The Bar Trolley, and The Kiss Side table. A selection of marble finishes is available, including ‘Black Horse’, ‘Norwegian Rose’, and ‘Calacatta Viola’. This extensive collection is further complemented by smaller pieces like The Tray, which comes in 8 different colors, and The Side Cart, featuring perforated metal surfaces.
