FNAF PTB for Dead By Daylight Likely Delayed Beyond Expectation

The Dead by Daylight Year 9 anniversary livestream was simply amazing. During the stream, we were treated to the announcement of a collaboration with The Witcher 3, and there were also hints that two unnamed licensed survivors arriving in July could potentially be from The Walking Dead. However, the most exciting part of the show was undoubtedly the reveal of the Dead by Daylight Five Nights at Freddy’s Chapter. Previously, Behaviour Interactive had mentioned that a public-test build would be released in May, but now a Dead by Daylight developer has hinted that the FNAF PTB may be delayed and arrive later than anticipated.

Dead By Daylight FNAF PTB might not come out in May

Before the commencement of Dead By Daylight Year 9 anniversary stream, Eric Pope from BeHaviour Interactive was queried on X about whether FNAF PTB would be released concurrently with the stream, that is, on May 9th. Pope clarified that it wouldn’t be on the same day but rather later in the month, and he added that the schedule this year is earlier than usual.

The initial statement from the community manager indicated that the public-test build of Five Nights At Freddy’s was expected in late May, with many anticipating it to be on May 27th. However, the community manager has now updated this information, stating that the playable version for Steam users will not be released until next month.

Pope has shared that there’s no confirmed date just yet, but it might be around early June for the stream demonstrating Springtrap’s powers and benefits. This is particularly relevant because the Power The Behind (PTB) release is scheduled on the same day as Behaviour’s upcoming stream featuring Springtrap’s abilities.

While we can’t guarantee a release in June, there’s a strong possibility. At this moment, the potential dates are either May 27th or June 3rd, but it’s not definitive yet.

As a gamer, here’s how I would put it: Based on the tentative schedule, if the game drops on May 27th, I’m expecting the full chapter to arrive around mid-June, roughly June 17th. However, if they roll out the Public Test Build (PTB) on June 3rd, then I’m guessing the full release will follow suit a week later, on June 24th. From what we know from the Year 10 roadmap, it’s a given that the chapter is coming to all platforms in June.
