Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming movie titled Jana Nayagan is slated for release on January 9, 2026. This will be his 69th project, with rumors circulating that it may be his final film before he fully immerses himself in politics. As excitement mounts, recent news indicates that the film has secured a significant streaming deal.

As per reports from OTTPlay, the post-theater streaming rights for Jana Nayagan have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video, and the reported sale price is an impressive Rs 121 crore. This transaction took place even amidst a slow period in India’s streaming industry.

In a slight change from its original release strategy, the Hindi adaptation of the movie is going to take a different path. As per news sources, it won’t start streaming until it has finished an eight-week run in theaters. Additionally, the dubbed Hindi version will be distributed extensively across regions where Hindi is predominantly spoken. Both traditional and modern cinemas are anticipated to screen the film, ensuring a grand farewell for Vijay.

Although the streaming service hasn’t confirmed it officially, the significant figures suggest a strong possibility. The agreement apparently depends on Vijay’s extensive influence and devoted fanbase spread across various regions.

Under the direction of H. Vinoth, the film titled Jana Nayagan is a political action drama with an alleged military setting, which seems to be consistent with the style observed in Vijay’s recent productions. Pooja Hegde takes on the role of the leading lady, while Bobby Deol steps into the part of the primary adversary. The cast also features Mamitha Baiju and Narain in significant roles.

Anirudh Ravichander is creating the tunes for this project, which represents their fifth joint venture since they’ve produced a number of successful soundtracks together in the past.
