Dwayne Johnson, together with his production company Seven Bucks, is working on a new film titled “Ripped.” According to reports by The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson might also be taking on a role within the movie.
What is Ripped about?
As stated in THR’s report, the movie “Ripped” originates from a short story penned by Joe Ballarini. It is set to be brought to life on the silver screen. The plot revolves around an individual grappling with self-doubt who decides to join a rigorous underground training center prior to his wedding. However, there’s a catch – this gym is run by a charismatic fitness mastermind who inspires fanatical devotion among his followers with the assurance of peak performance at any expense.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited about the upcoming movie, but I don’t know who’ll be joining the cast yet. However, The Hollywood Reporter hinted that one of the roles seems perfect for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. At this point, he’s only involved as a producer, with our project being part of Seven Bucks’ partnership with Disney. This arrangement lets us team up on projects with various Disney companies, and it’s what kick-started the planned Martin Scorsese movie featuring Johnson.
Ballarini is planning to transform the short story into a screenplay and has struck a contract with 12:01 Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster/Atria, for the development of the story into a novel. At present, there’s no news about who will helm the film or which actors might be involved.
