After making her debut at the Met Gala, Bebe Rexha became involved in a dispute on a platform that used to be known as Twitter with Azealia Banks, following some offensive comments made by Banks about Rexha’s body. In response, Rexha, who is famous for her song “Me, Myself & I,” responded to Banks by suggesting she might benefit from therapy and healing.

Bebe Rexha and Azealia Banks had a public disagreement that started when Banks made comments about Rexha’s look at the Met Gala. On platform X, Banks wrote, “Sister, you remind me of a hormone-regulating birth control implant or something.
The 212 singer stated, “She requires the implanon/nuvaring taken out or the depo shot discontinued (I’m not trying to interfere with her).” This comment sparked a sequence of replies from Rexha.
Rexha posted on X, “Perhaps you could give therapy a try.” She recommended Lexapro as an antidepressant that worked well for her. “Something to address the persistent sadness and turmoil you seem to express,” the singer continued. “Recovery brings positivity to all. Give it a shot,” she added.
In a previous post that has since been removed, Rexha emphasized the ease with which individuals often pass judgment on others’ bodies without understanding the hidden battles they may be facing. The artist shared insights from her own experience with infertility and miscarriage, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Rexha stated that she’s grown weary of people making comments about her weight. She also disclosed that she has Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and faces challenges with fertility. In addition, the artist shared a past experience where she became pregnant but unfortunately suffered a loss.
The singer known for “I’m a Mess” commented, “I’ve held onto that hurt privately. I didn’t have to share that truth with anyone, but perhaps now people will pause before criticizing someone else’s physical appearance.
In the meantime, Banks carried on the online discussion. The “Big Big Beat” singer suggested to Rexha, “It might be beneficial for you to stop taking Lexapro, as weight gain is often a common side effect of this medication.
The artist openly discussed her personal experience with psychotropic medications, highlighting what didn’t prove beneficial for her. She expressed, “Lexapro actually caused me to gain weight!”, arguing that it exacerbated her depression. In a post on X, Banks offered to be Rexha’s sympathetic companion, stating, “Lexapro doesn’t seem to be helping you girl. Those long tapering methods are deceptive too. You might be up to 40mg. Just consider reducing to 20mg.
