Steve Carell Movie Mountainhead Was Filmed, Edited in 5-Day Span

Casey Bloys, CEO of HBO, stated that Jesse Armstrong’s Mountainhead project was developed exceptionally swiftly by the Succession creator.

What did HBO’s CEO say about Mountainhead?

Armstrong produced and edited the movie in just under a week’s time.

As a gamer, I’d rephrase it as: “I just completed my movie Mountainhead in an unbelievable whirlwind! It all started with a pitch back in December, followed by writing, filming, editing, and wrapping it up within five days or so. It’s set to be aired three weeks from now.

According to Bloys, the reason the movie – featuring four wealthy individuals during a ski vacation amidst global financial turmoil – was released so swiftly was because of its relevance and topicality.

Mountainhead is set to premiere on Saturday, the 31st of May at 8:00 p.m., Eastern Time or Pacific Time, on HBO. You’ll also be able to stream it on Max.

In this production, Steve Carell from The Office plays Randall, Ramy Youssef known for Ramy and Poor Things takes on the role of Jeff, Jason Schwartzman from Bored to Death portrays Hugo Van Yalk, and Cory Michael Smith, recognized in Saturday Night and May December, performs as Venis. The ensemble also includes Hadley Robinson as Hester, Andy Daly as Casper, Ali Kinkade as Berry, Daniel Oreskes as Dr. Phipps, David Thompson as Leo, Amie MacKenzie as Janine, and Ava Kostia as Paula.

The HBO original movie was penned and helmed by Armstrong. Throughout the four seasons of Succession, this distinguished writer received seven Emmy Awards, among them Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. In addition to his role as director, he’s also involved in executive production alongside Frank Rich, Lucy Prebble, Jon Brown, Tony Roche, Will Tracy, Mark Mylod, and Jill Footlick.
