The creators of the largest modification for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, known as Astartes Overhaul, are persistently developing for Saber Interactive’s cooperative game. Following the impressive integration of a 12-player cooperative mod, the team is now focusing on colossal raid events similar to MMOs and numerous additional modes.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share that I’m part of a team, known as Warhammer Workshop, collaborating with Saber Interactive on an exciting project. We’re cooking up some massive raid missions for our PC game! Although we don’t have a specific launch date yet, rest assured we’re putting in long hours to significantly enhance the gaming experience. Stay tuned!

Space Marine 2 raids are coming

During a recent interview, Warhammer Workshop shared that the idea of achieving 12-player cooperative play seemed unattainable, but with Saber’s backing, they managed to make it happen. Yet, this is only the beginning of their ambitious plans for the game.

We didn’t anticipate 12-player PvE scenarios materializing so quickly, but amazingly, that’s where we find ourselves today,” the modder stated. “Due to Saber’s generosity and faith in us, this significant advancement has become a reality, transforming the possibilities for what we can achieve.

Regarding the forthcoming raid missions, the modder clarifies that their goal is to deliver a fresh, engaging experience. This includes enemies that pack a powerful punch, requiring strategic teamwork to defeat, along with entirely novel mechanics.

Beyond the thrilling Raid mode, the team is also developing a type of Prop Hunt, fresh PvE missions, and is already sketching out ideas for Horde Mode enhancements once it’s officially released.

The modder went on, expressing his enthusiasm, ‘It’s tough not to get worked up given that I’m both a creator and a fan.’ Continuously praising the Saber team, he said, ‘They consistently deliver, making it possible for us to enjoy this experience. And what sets them apart is their dedication to creating exceptional original content, free from the typical pay-to-win schemes found in many contemporary games.’

Boasting a vibrant community of around 20,000 members in the Discord server dedicated to the Space Marine 2 modding project, numerous teams are diligently working to breathe fresh vitality into the game beyond initial expectations. As Saber progresses with new Operations, Horde Mode, and additional features, they’re simultaneously embarking on the development of Space Marine 3.

As I compose this text, there’s not much information available regarding the upcoming sequel. Yet, Saber has labeled it as a “larger and improved” continuation, featuring more extensive battle scenes compared to its predecessor. (We’re eagerly anticipating an upgrade in melee combat too.)
