‘I can’t be Karthi, can’t do Meiyazhagan’: Suriya REACTS to comparisons with his brother

Suriya and Karthi are both highly respected actors within Tamil cinema. Yet, even though they are siblings, fans often compare them. Lately, Suriya spoke up about this topic, explaining that certain movies selected by Karthi simply don’t align with his own acting preferences.

As I conversed with Karthik Subbaraj and Santhosh Narayanan, I humbly admitted that I don’t view myself as a supreme thespian. There are moments when my acting takes a turn towards exaggeration, I acknowledged.

It’s essential to acknowledge that I simply can’t emulate his brilliance, especially in films like Meiyazhagan – a role that has earned him immense acclaim. However, this doesn’t discourage me; instead, it motivates me to carve out my unique path in the world of cinema.

Regarding Suriya, he’s been making headlines due to his well-deserved accolades following the exceptional performance of “Retro.” This romantic action film has garnered praise for numerous reasons and continues to climb the charts at the box office with equal enthusiasm.

Under Karthik Subbaraj’s direction, the movie features Pooja Hegde as its main star. In its initial days since release, Retro has earned approximately Rs. 32.50 crore in Tamil Nadu. Although there’s been a slight decline in earnings, anticipation is high that it will regain traction in the box office soon.

After that, one of Suriya’s upcoming projects is “Suriya45,” a film directed by RJ Balaji. In this movie, Suriya takes on the character of an attorney, and he will be working alongside actress Trisha Krishnan in the same project.

Instead of that, it’s worth noting that Karthi has been garnering attention due to his cameo in the movie HIT starring Nani. This brief role hinted at his potential as the main character in the forthcoming film series headed by Sailesh Kolanu, specifically for the fourth edition of the franchise.

Besides this, it’s worth mentioning that Karthi is working on another exciting project – the spy-action sequel titled Sardar 2. This upcoming venture has sparked curiosity among fans following its official announcement.
