The narrative revolves around Das (Sasikumar), his humble spouse Vasanthi (Simran), and their sons Nidhu (Mithun) and Mulli (Kamalesh). Facing an economic predicament in Sri Lanka, they decide to embark on a maritime journey to Rameswaram. Eventually, they establish themselves in a densely populated neighborhood in Chennai, striving to blend inconspicuously. Yet, unforeseen circumstances bring their identities to light, adding layers of complexity to their situation.

The movie primarily focuses on the family’s life within the colony, surrounded by a diverse group of inhabitants. Each family member possesses unique characteristics. Mulli, the youngest, is notorious for his playful pranks, fibbing, and keen eyesight. Nidhu exhibits frustration and anger, while Vasanthi maintains an upbeat and spirited demeanor. The colony houses individuals like Richard (MS Bhaskar), a stern figure, and Gunashekar (Elango Kumaravel), who frequently harbors suspicion towards others.

As their past catches up, the family faces the uncertainty of life as refugees in a foreign land.
