The first official image for Avatar: Fire and Ash has been released.

James Cameron’s forthcoming film titled “Avatar: Fire and Ash” serves as a sequel to both the 2009 release “Avatar” and the upcoming 2022 movie “Avatar: The Water Way.” Slated for theater release in December, this motion picture features Sam Worthington reprising his role as Jake Sully, alongside Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri, with additional cast members.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly awaiting updates on Avatar: Fire and Ash, and now Empire Magazine has dropped a bombshell – they’ve unveiled the very first official image of the upcoming film! Take a look for yourself below:

What did Zoe Saldaña say about Avatar: Fire and Ash?

Saldaña revealed that her character in Avatar: Fire and Ash experiences “complete destruction” right from the beginning, as Neytiri and Jake grapple with the loss of their child, Neteyam.

She explained that the pain persists without respite, and since it doesn’t dissipate, anger can surface as well. [The Sullys] will face trials as a family…Not only will the events make her doubt the connection she shares with her husband, but also with herself, her community, her homeland, and the Na’vi way of life. She will question everything.

In addition, Saldaña mentioned that her character will encounter a formidable adversary when coming face-to-face with Varang, the head of the Ash People tribe, who is portrayed by Oona Chaplin.

Cameron expressed, “Zoe truly shines in this movie. Alongside Emilia Pérez, she’s earning the acknowledgement as a leading actor that we’ve long suspected she deserved. However, in [Fire And Ash], her performance surpasses anything we’ve previously witnessed.

In addition to the main characters, Sigourney Weaver plays Kiri, Stephen Lang portrays Colonel Miles Quaritch, Giovanni Ribisi is Parker Selfridge, Kate Winslet takes on the role of Ronal, Cliff Curtis stars as Tonowari, Joel David Moore acts as Dr. Norm Spellman, Edie Falco is General Frances Ardmore, and there are further notable cast members.

Avatar: Fire and Ash will be released in United States theaters on December 19, 2025.
