EVE Vanguard gets a public event in September & early access in summer 2026

At the EVE Fanfest 2025, we had a sneak peek at an abundance of fresh content destined for the EVE universe, and one of the major unveilings was for CCP’s action-packed MMO shooter, coinciding with EVE Online, called EVE Vanguard. Vanguard has been under development for quite a while, with only limited playtesting so far. CCP has announced a date for the next testing phase, and even more excitingly, they have specified an early access timeframe for this project.

At the EVE Fanfest 2025, CCP Games revealed the specifics for the upcoming playtesting and early access release of EVE Vanguard. The next major playtest event for EVE Vanguard is scheduled for September 16, 2025, which will be open to the public, giving players a sneak peek into the game’s features. Later in summer 2026, CCP Games plans to make EVE Vanguard available on Steam Early Access.

At EVE Fanfest 2023, CCP Games unveiled EVE Vanguard, a project they’ve been working on since then. Along the journey, we’ve witnessed multiple playtests and roadmaps, with plans for Steam Early Access set quite some time ago. However, Fanfest 2025 signaled the start of the game’s proper early access phase. So far, playtesting events have given EVE’s dedicated player base a sneak peek at the game, but next year’s transition to Steam will be intriguing as we wait to see how the broader gaming community reacts.
