Following numerous increases in PS Plus prices worldwide, there’s been a lot of anticipation that the free games for May 2025 will be particularly good. The games you’re eagerly waiting for will be available for play starting May 6th. It’s an appealing lineup, so don’t forget to grab them before the promotion ends on June 2nd. Once you do, you can revisit these games whenever you want, as long as your subscription remains active.

Balatro, an exceptional and engrossing game, claimed the title of Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards 2024 and was also nominated for the prestigious Game of the Year. ARK Survival Ascended, a stunning remake of the original ARK Survival Evolved, and Warhammer 40K Boltgun, an impressive pixelated first-person shooter set in the Warhammer universe, are all noteworthy gaming experiences.

Extra and Premium games reveal date

Although the Essential game series has been unveiled, we’ll need to stay patient until May 14th to learn about the upcoming Extra and Premium titles.

Currently, there haven’t been any recent whispers to report. Previously, hints about a PlayStation 2 version of Wall.E, including trophies and ratings, were leaked. Fans speculated that the game might release in March or April, but it didn’t materialize. Consequently, there’s a chance it may debut in May, though this remains unconfirmed.

Following the unveiling of the Extra and Premium content on May 14th, these new additions will officially become available and playable from May 20th onward. Fingers crossed for an exciting collection of games, as more than 20 titles are set to depart.
