How to Apply Poison to Weapons | The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

To apply poison to your weapons, follow these steps: Retrieve the poison from your inventory, then assign it to a quick access slot by pressing the Left Stick (Controller) or R key (Keyboard). Once the shortcuts menu is displayed, choose the desired poison and select an available shortcut slot.

To start, ensure the weapon you wish to treat is firmly grasped in your virtual hand. Next, summon the control options menu either by clicking and holding LB for Xbox, L1 for PlayStation, or pressing the R key on a keyboard. Once there, select the slot containing the Poison item you previously selected.

The game is going to ask you if you’d like to apply Poison to your current weapon. It might also tell you the name of your weapon first as a reminder. If you agree, simply choose ‘Yes’ and the Poison’s effects will be applied to your weapon instantly!

It’s important to keep in mind that the influence of poisons persists for only one strike with melee weapons, and it won’t be used up if you miss or strike a wall. On the other hand, for bows, the poison’s effect is limited to a single arrow shot, regardless of whether it hits or misses its target.
