Kiko Kostadinov and New Era Transform Leftover SS25 Fabrics Into Headwear Capsule

Last summer during his Paris runway show, Kiko Kostadinov unveiled his SS25 collection brimming with coverings for the head such as vibrant neck gaiters and hooded balaclavas; however, it was only recently that he collaborated with New Era to reintroduce fabrics from his Paris collection in June 2023. Together they have produced a capsule collection of casual hats, utilizing materials previously showcased by Kostadinov. The assortment consists of three designs with different textures, providing a glimpse into the designer’s creative journey through wearable items.

A hat featuring pinstripes similar to those seen in Kostadinov’s SS25 presentation, crafted from the same cotton fabric, stands out as the most daring design among the options. To match the shades of green used in the interwoven stripes, a K monogram and collection number “00182025” are intricately embroidered in neon green, adding a vibrant touch.

As a fan, I can’t help but notice the brand callouts adorning not one, but two unique hats in this collection. One is a stylish tan herringbone wool hat, beautifully embellished with white embroidery and intricate speckled jacquard weave. The other, a striking speckled jacquard hat, boasts contrast stitching that adds an edge to its design.

In the original collection, the herringbone fabric was ingeniously incorporated into forward-thinking tailoring pieces, while the custom Italian jacquard made a bold statement on asymmetrical coats and blousons.

On May 3, the exclusive capsule designed specifically for Japan will be launched simultaneously through KIKO KOSTADINOV TOKYO and Dover Street Market Ginza.
