Speculation swirls that Paul Levesque, famously known in the wrestling world as Triple H (a nickname derived from Hunter Hearst Helmsley), may be departing from the WWE. Fans are intrigued, questioning whether this gossip holds any truth. Triple H is a seasoned professional wrestler who has been associated with the WWF / WWE since 1995 and currently serves as the Chief Content Officer within the company.
Is Triple H leaving WWE?
It’s not clear if WWE or Triple H have made any announcements about their departure from the company yet.
It appears the rumors originated from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s remarks made on The Pat McAfee Show, which were later discussed by Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo on their podcast, The Coach & Bro Show.
At WrestleMania 41, when asked about his non-appearance during John Cena and Cody Rhodes’ match, The Rock explained, “The Final Boss was better off not being part of the match’s conclusion at WrestleMania.” He also shared with McAfee that he admired the finish of the bout, but if he had been in charge, he would have handled certain aspects leading up to it differently, reflecting his creative approach.
During an interview with McAfee, Dave LaGreca from Busted Open Radio expressed disapproval towards The Rock by suggesting that he publicly criticized Triple H, implying that it was not appropriate for him to share his thoughts on how the match should have been conducted. In response, The Rock explained that the wrestling industry has always been about “performance” and extended an invitation to LaGreca to participate in their creative meetings along with John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and Brian Gewirtz.
It appears that Coachman and Russo were convinced, based on their previous conversations, that Triple H might depart from WWE. According to Russo, The Final Boss hinted that the head of content wasn’t involved in the decisive match of WWE’s biggest yearly event. Furthermore, Russo feels that Triple H is in a difficult position within the company.
Who can replace Triple H as WWE’s chief content officer?
On Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast, the coachman hypothesized that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could potentially take over Triple H’s position in WWE, given his close association with Gewirtz, a former WWE writer. It’s worth mentioning that The Rock serves on the board of directors for the TKO Group Holdings, which is the parent company of WWE.
