Sydney Sweeney Set to Star in ‘Split Fiction’ Video Game Film Adaptation

Sydney Sweeney, who’s known for her role in Euphoria, has a packed schedule ahead with two upcoming movie adaptations of video games. She will appear in the Jon M. Chu-directed Split Fiction, following her previous announcement as the star of Michael Bay’s OutRun video game adaptation film.

Written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers of Deadpool and Wolverine, a new project titled “Split Fiction” is set for production under Mike Goldberg and Dmitri M. Johnson’s Story Kitchen, with Sweeney serving as executive producer. Originally developed by Electronic Arts and Hazelight Studios as a cooperative adventure game with split-screen combat, platforming challenges, and characters possessing unique abilities, “Split Fiction” now follows the story of authors Mio and Zoe who find themselves trapped within the world they created. The exact role Sweeney will play remains unclear, but she is expected to take on either the character of Mio or Zoe.

The new game was made available on March 6 of this year for PlayStation 5, Windows PCs, and Xbox Series X/S consoles. It’s scheduled to debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 in June 2025. As of now, there is no official word on when the movie version will be released. Keep an eye out for updates.
