Chris Evans & Aubrey Plaza Comedy Movie Honey Don’t! Gets Release Date

Focus Pictures has set a release date for the forthcoming dark comedy, titled “Honey Don’t!“, featuring Chris Evans and Aubrey Plaza in leading roles.

At the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, the Ethan Coen-directed movie “Honey Don’t!” will make its first public appearance before it reaches theaters, as a part of the Midnight Screenings Section.

Honey Don’t! is set for a wide U.S. theatrical release on August 22.

Honey Don’t!” – A quirky yet ominous tale revolving around Honey O’Donahue, a local detective in a tranquil town, as she uncovers a puzzling chain of unexplained deaths linked to an enigmatic church.

Margaret Qualley takes on the role of Honey O’Donahue, while the identities of Plaza’s and Evans’ characters are being kept secret. Additionally, Charlie Day and Billy Eichner will each play significant parts in the production.

The Honey Don’t! group consists of performers such as Lera Abova, Jacnier, Gabby Beans, Talia Ryder, Kristen Connolly, Lena Hall, Don Swayze, Josh Pafchek, Kale Browne, Alexander Carstoiu, and Christian Antidormi.

Ethan Coen was the film’s director based on a script he co-authored with his wife, Tricia Cooke. Previously, they collaborated on the 2024 crime comedy “Drive-Away Dolls,” starring Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan. “Honey Don’t!” is one of Ethan’s three directorial projects independent from his brother Joel, following “Drive-Away Dolls” and “Jerry Lee Lewis: Trouble in Mind.

Evans is rapidly rising among the Materialists’ notable figures, joining Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal. The romantic comedy “Celine Song” premieres in cinemas on June 13th. In the year 2024, Evans portrayed Johnny Storm/Human Torch in “Deadpool & Wolverine” and Jack O’Malley in Red One.

More recently, Aubrey Plaza’s performances have stood out, such as her role as Rio Vidal in Marvel’s Agatha All Along. She has also taken on characters like Older Elliot in the comedy My Old Ass and Wow Platinum in Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.
