The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Includes That Iconic Line Flub From the Original Game

The revamped version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, a classic title by Bethesda, boasts updated graphics, gameplay enhancements, and various other improvements. However, the team at Virtuos didn’t forget to incorporate one of the original’s most memorable phrases.

As an ardent Elder Scrolls enthusiast, I can’t help but recall the legendary High Elf Speechcraft trainer, Tandilwe, nestled within the Temple of the One in the Imperial City. Back when Oblivion graced our PCs and Xbox 360 consoles over 19 years ago, it was evident that even a master like Tandilwe could benefit from some speech coaching herself. Among her lines, there’s an intriguing voice recording that many believe was inadvertently included—a line that has long been thought to be actress Linda Kenyon attempting another take.

Yesterday, as players embarked on their journey through the rejuvenated Cyrodiil, they were eager to assess the authenticity of the comprehensive remaster. Although numerous landscapes, character designs, and objects have undergone a facelift, some have expressed delight in discovering that several quirks that made the 2006 Oblivion game endearing remain unchanged. One such charming anomaly is Tandilwe’s infamous (and amusing) blooper, which fans have rejoiced to see resurface. It retains its original charm, complete with the absence of subtitles as in the past.

During an interview in 2019 with YouTuber Jake ‘The Voice’ Parr, Kenyon found out that a goof from the game Oblivion had gone viral online. He vehemently claimed it wasn’t his mistake.

Amidst the discussion among countless gamers diving into Oblivion Remastered about whether this re-release from Bethesda leans more towards remake or remaster, there are those who simply appreciate that many of its quirks have been left unchanged. This characteristic was intentionally preserved by both Bethesda and Virtuos in the original version, and so far, it appears to be a hit with both novice and seasoned players alike.
