Netflix unveiled fresh images of the upcoming sequel to “The Old Guard 2,” the highly anticipated follow-up to the acclaimed action-fantasy film. The sequel is set to premiere for streaming on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

In the official summary, it’s stated that “Andy along with her band of eternal fighters are back to shield humanity from a powerful new adversary who jeopardizes their survival.” For those who watched The Old Guard, you might remember it ended with some questions. Specifically, Booker (Schoenaerts) is banished for a hundred years, but finds Quynh waiting in his apartment upon his return. Her intentions aren’t clear yet, but one thing’s for sure—the action will be more intense and spectacular than ever before, and the movie promises to take you to brand new locations.

Who is in The Old Guard 2 photos?

Photos hint at the comeback of Academy Award winner Charlize Theron, who is set to resume her character Andy once more in The Old Guard 2. In these snapshots, Theron’s persona is depicted alongside Kiki Layne as Nile, Marwan Kenzari as Joe, Luca Marinelli as Nicky, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Copley, and fresh addition Henry Golding (known for films like Crazy Rich Asians and The Gentlemen). The extensive cast will also feature Veronica Ngo as Quynh, Matthias Schoenaerts as Booker, and Uma Thurman, best recognized for her roles in Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill.

During a chat with Tudum, Theron gave fans a sneak peek at what they might find in the sequel regarding the latest characters, hinting that the action scenes will exceed those of the earlier movie.

As a thrilled fan, I’m excited to share some exciting news! We’re about to encounter fresh characters in this captivating tale. Our beloved character Quynh returns, and we welcome Uma Thurman and Henry Golding into our world as pivotal new additions to the Old Guard universe. Join us once more as Andy and her warriors reemerge, invigorated by a renewed sense of purpose. The risks have escalated now that Andy has become mortal, but fear not, she won’t let that deter her from taking part in the action!

The second installment is helmed by Victoria Mahoney, who co-penned the script with Greg Rucka and Sarah L. Walker, inspired by their comic book of the same title written by Rucka and Leandro Fernandez. It’s being produced by the original director, Gina Prince-Bythewood, as well as David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger from Skydance, and Marc Evans, along with Charlize Theron, Beth Kono, and A.J. Dix from Denver and Delilah.
