Malcolm in the Middle Photo Reunites Frankie Muniz With Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek

Frankie Muniz posted an exclusive snapshot taken during filming of “Malcolm in the Middle” featuring his television parents, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek.

“Always good to have Mom and Dad around,” Muniz wrote on X.

Who is involved in the Malcolm in the Middle revival?

Back in December, it was revealed that Disney+ is planning a return for Malcolm in the Middle, featuring four new episodes, as a celebration of the series reaching its 25-year milestone.

In this new setup, Muniz once again takes on the character of Malcolm Wilkerson, while Cranston and Kaczmarek portray his parents, Hal and Lois respectively.

The tagline for the comeback states, ‘Malcolm gets pulled back into familial turmoil as he’s summoned to celebrate Hal and Lois’ 40th wedding anniversary celebration with them.’

Among the returning characters are Christopher Masterson portraying Malcolm’s eldest brother Francis and Justin Berfield playing Malcolm’s other older brother Reese. However, Erik Per Sullivan will not reprise his role as Dewey, Malcolm’s youngest brother. Instead, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark has taken over the character of Dewey.

In the new cast lineup, Anthony Timpano is taking on the role of Jamie, the youngest sibling to Malcolm, a character who was just a toddler when the original Fox show ended. Meanwhile, Vaughan Murrae has been chosen to portray Malcolm’s younger sister, Kelly. Interestingly, Kelly, the only daughter of the Wilkerson family, did not make an appearance on the main series. Instead, it was revealed in the finale that Lois was expecting her sixth child, but the show didn’t continue beyond that point.

In a new role, Keeley Karsten will portray Leah, a character who shares her father’s quick wit, impulsive nature, and exceptional intelligence. However, unlike her father, Leah is more emotionally and sentimentally inclined. On the other hand, Kiana Madeira has been cast as Malcolm’s romantic partner.

In a return to the series, original creator Linwood Boomer takes on writing duties for the revival. Ken Kwapis will helm direction for all four episodes. The executive producers include Linwood Boomer himself, Ken Kwapis, Bryan Cranston, Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman, Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Natalie Lehmann.

Disney Plus hasn’t revealed when the Malcolm in the Middle reboot will air. You can stream all six seasons of Malcolm in the Middle on Disney+ or Hulu instead.
