Early Life
Kristin Chenoweth, previously known as Kristi Dawn Chenoweth, was born on July 24, 1968, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Just five days after her birth, she was lovingly adopted by Junie Smith Chenoweth and Jerry Morris Chenoweth, who were both professionals in the field of chemical engineering.
Kristin shared that she is of one-fourth Cherokee descent. Later in life, she got the chance to meet her biological mom, who noticed a likeness to Kristin Chenoweth after spotting her on a late-night television program around ten years ago.
Growing up, I nurtured an ardor for music and the stage, regularly crooning gospel tunes within our community’s churches.

Kristin Chenoweth finished her high school studies at Broken Arrow High School, participating extensively in their drama club.
After completing her studies, she signed up for Oklahoma City College, a compact, faith-based Christian college. Whilst attending, she became a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and participated in beauty contests. In the end, she was crowned as Miss Oklahoma City University.

Kristin Chenoweth Career
As I juggled my studies for a master’s degree, I also graced the stage at The Lyric Theater in Oklahoma City from time to time. Occasionally, I’d venture out to regional theaters for performances too. Some of my earliest theatrical adventures involved playing roles in shows like Promises, Promises and The King and I.
1992 saw me being honored as the “Most Promising Rising Star” at the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions. This recognition came with a fully-funded scholarship to study at the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia.
Before her college classes began, Kristin decided to visit New York City to help a friend with their move and also take advantage of the chance to audition for a part in the Paper Mill Playhouse’s “Animal Crackers” show. After landing the role, she chose to forgo the scholarship and instead moved to New York City to pursue her dream of a career in musical theater.

2008 saw her appearing in a supporting part in “Four Christmases,” alongside Reese Witherspoon. The following year, she made an appearance in the independent film titled “Into Temptation.
Between 2004 and 2006, she appeared regularly in the popular political drama “The West Wing.” Afterward, she joined the main cast of the comedy-drama “Pushing Daisies,” from 2007 to 2009.
