I Know What You Did Last Summer Trailer: The Fisherman Is Back

The first trailer for the new I Know What You Did Last Summer movie has been released.

In July of this year, Sony Pictures plans to debut a fresh installment of the I Know What You Did Last Summer series in American cinemas. This will be the fourth movie in the successful horror franchise, with Madelyn Cline, Jennifer Love Hewitt playing the character Julie James, among others, taking on roles in this new production.

What happens in the I Know What You Did Last Summer trailer?

In the fresh preview for I Know What You Did Last Summer, the Fisherman makes his reappearance, hinting at gruesome demises and gory scenes. Similarly, Freddie Prinze Jr. will be reprising his role as Ray Bronson in this new installment, which is a continuation of the 1998 film I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

Five individuals unwittingly trigger a fatal car crash, choosing instead to hide their involvement and swear secrecy to avoid repercussions. However, their past catches up with them a year later when they’re compelled to acknowledge a chilling reality: someone has learned about their summertime secret and is seeking retribution. As one by one, the friends are pursued by a vengeful killer, they uncover that similar events occurred previously, prompting them to seek guidance from two survivors of the infamous Southport Massacre of 1997.

Alongside these talented actors, we have Chase Sui Wonders, Sarah Pidgeon, Jonah Hauer-King, and Tyriq Withers joining the film’s ensemble.

The movie “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is led by director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who has previously managed projects like “Someone Great” from 2019 and “Do Revenge” in 2022. In addition to directing, Robinson has contributed to the scripts for “Unpregnant” from 2020 and “Thor: Love and Thunder,” released in 2022 as well.

On July 18, 2025, “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is set for release in U.S. cinemas by Sony Pictures Releasing.
