New Star Wars Show Being Written By Lost Showrunner

Carlton Cuse has been tapped to write a new Star Wars show from Lucasfilm.

Cuse played a key role in managing ABC’s popular show Lost, working side by side with Damon Lindelof. He also collaborated with Graham Roland to create Amazon Prime Video’s Jack Ryan series, and has been involved in various other shows including Bates Motel, The Strain, Colony, Locke & Key, Five Days at Memorial, Pulse, and numerous others.

What do we know about the new Star Wars show from the Jack Ryan creator?

As reported by Jeff Sneider in The InSneider, father-son duo Carlton Cuse and Nick Cuse are currently penning a fresh Star Wars series for Lucasfilm and the streaming platform, Disney+.

At present, specifics about the storyline are being closely guarded, so we don’t yet know which characters the series will center around or where in the Star Wars chronology the action will unfold.

Nick Cuse is known for contributing to television series like The Leftovers, Maniac, Watchmen, Calls, and Station Eleven. He was also a co-writer for the 2020 movie, The Hunt, directed by Craig Zobel. This is the first instance where Nick Cuse has collaborated with Carlton on a project.

As fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming Star Wars series by Carlton and Nick, Lucasfilm is preparing for the release of Andor Season 2. This series, developed by Tony Gilroy, will make its debut on Disney+ with three initial episodes on April 22, 2025. Subsequently, new episodes will be released weekly every Tuesday until the season finale on May 13, 2025.

Currently, Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian and Grogu are set to be released on May 22, 2026. On the other hand, Shawn Levy’s upcoming Star Wars movie has been confirmed for a release on May 28, 2027, now titled Star Wars: Starfighter, with Ryan Gosling as the star.

Several other Star Wars productions are currently underway at different phases, such as the movie directed by Taika Waititi, the film focusing on Rey, and additional ones.
