How to get Adhesive – RuneScape: Dragonwilds

In the game RuneScape: Dragonwilds, you invest a significant amount of time in acquiring items that serve as prerequisites for crafting additional items. As you gather resources along the way, you unlock recipes which in turn motivate you to continue seeking more resources. Among the essential early-game items you should aim for is Adhesive, particularly if you’re planning on upgrading your armor.

How to get adhesive in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

To create Adhesive, you’ll need to journey towards the Whispering Swamp, situated at the northern edge of the Bramblemead Valley. This area can be quite ominous and gloomy, but it’s also where you can find Swamp Tar. You can spot this tar on the ground or scrape it from the body of a glowing-eyed Putrid Rat if you encounter one. On the ground, these tar lumps appear as shiny, black, blob-like formations and usually occur in clusters of five to six, spread relatively close together.

After gathering some Swamp Tar, you’ll need to transform it into Adhesive using a Kiln. The advantage is that the primary material for building a Kiln is clay, which is plentiful in the Whispering Swamp as well. Here, I’ve gathered all the necessary resources for constructing your Kiln:

  • 8 Ash Logs – can be easily found in Bramblemead Valley and cut down with an axe.
  • 20 Stones – can be found all over the valley, use a pickaxe to break them up.
  • 6 Clay – can be found in large sqaure lumps on the ground in the Whispering Swamp, you will need a pickaxe to farm them.
  • Fire Runes – can be made at the Rune Altar using Rune Essence. If you have yet to unlock them, just keep making the other Runes until you unlock them.

In your build menu, located within the Crafting section, you’ll discover the Kiln recipe. Once placed at your preferred location, simply engage with it and insert Swamp Tar. The transformation into Adhesive will happen quite swiftly.
