The Elder Scrolls 6 Could Launch In The Next 5 Years, Developer Profile Suggests

Summary

  • The Elder Scrolls 6 may be released this decade, based on a developer’s LinkedIn profile.
  • The game was originally announced in 2018.
  • We can do five more years, right?

Looking back, it seems Bethesda might be wishing they hadn’t unveiled Elder Scrolls 6 so soon. To be fair, it wasn’t really a reveal – just a logo, which may evolve over time. Essentially, they were hinting that the game will eventually arrive, so fans should move on and check out Starfield instead. However, Starfield didn’t manage to keep players hooked as long as Skyrim did, leaving fans eagerly anticipating when TES 6 will make its appearance.

It’s clear that there won’t be any updates regarding that topic in the near future. Fortunately, Oblivion Remastered can provide some entertainment for the series enthusiasts for a while. Unfortunately, though, we can only speculate about when the next sequel will arrive. If a Bethesda developer’s LinkedIn profile is accurate, we might even get to play the game in this same decade.

The Elder Scrolls 6 May Release Some Time In The Next 5 Years

According to Timur222 on Twitter (via GameRanx), an employee of Bethesda Game Studios has hinted at an unannounced game through their LinkedIn profile. This individual has worked on Fallout 76 and Starfield as a programmer, and their current project is titled “202X – Unannounced”. It’s possible that we might be speculating, but this could potentially be The Elder Scrolls 6, with a potential release within the next five years.

There’s no information available about any other project Bethesda might be developing, though there could be something under wraps. At this stage, we’ll grasp at any hints that come our way. To clarify, as of January, the announcement of Elder Scrolls 6 is still more distant than the release of Skyrim was when it first came out. Skyrim was announced at E3 2018, and E3, where such announcements are usually made, no longer exists since it was cancelled two years ago.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and trepidation as Bethesda seems to be focusing more intently on their classic franchises. It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard anything substantial about Fallout, and with The Elder Scrolls VI looming on the horizon, there’s a definite air of expectation that threatens to outshine even the most radiant sunstone. I can only hope that they’ll deliver in the next five years or so; otherwise, their absence may prove as elusive as a dragon hidden among the clouds.
