Steam Deck users can now claim five “very positive” free games and more

Lately, there’s been an abundance of fantastic games to enjoy on the Steam Deck. The critically acclaimed game of 2025 thus far is Blue Prince, and this month also marked the availability of The Last of Us Part 2 on Valve’s handheld device. Regrettably, the opportunity to obtain Metro 2033 for free has expired, but some positive news is that new freebies are now up for grabs from Prime Gaming and the Epic Games store. In fact, Steam Deck users can now claim a handful of highly-rated free games and even more, although keep in mind that the performance of each may differ.

How to claim new Steam Deck free games

New free games have been added for gamers with an Amazon Prime Gaming subscription! Here’s a list of the games, including their compatibility with the Steam Deck and their aggregated reviews from Valve’s store:

1. Game Name 1 (Steam Deck Compatible/Not Compatible) – Review Aggregate
2. Game Name 2 (Steam Deck Compatible/Not Compatible) – Review Aggregate
3. Game Name 3 (Steam Deck Compatible/Not Compatible) – Review Aggregate
4. And so on…

Enjoy the new games!

  • Gloomhaven [Epic Games store] – playable (very positive)
  • The Last Spell [GOG code] – playable (very positive)
  • Fashion Police Squad [Epic Games store] – playable (very positive)
  • Genesis Noir [Amazon Games App] – playable (mostly positive)

Starting from April 17th, Amazon Prime Gaming will be giving away some freebies. Meanwhile, the Epic Games Store has its own offerings available until April 24th.

Or

Starting on April 17th, Amazon Prime Gaming will provide some free goodies. On the other hand, the Epic Games Store has its promotions running until April 24th.

  • Botanicula – verified (mixed)
  • Firestone Idle RPG w/$100 value and free skin – playable (mostly positive)

As a gamer, here’s how I can put it: To grab those sweet freebies from Prime Gaming, you gotta be signed up for their service, which sets you back £8.99 a month. But hold on, it’s not just about the games – you also get free shipping when you buy items on Amazon, plus access to loads of TV shows and movies through Prime Video, and sometimes even live sports! It’s more than worth it, my fellow gamers.

To add to that, to grab the complimentary games for your Steam Deck, it’s recommended to utilize the gratis Heroic Games Launcher. This platform is compatible with GOG, Epic Games, and Amazon Games. Currently, many of the games available might be marked as “playable” instead of “verified” on Valve’s store. This means you can enjoy these games, but there may be some technical issues along the way.

In relation to the latest Steam Deck updates, it’s been confirmed that a new Sonic game will be playable on Valve’s portable console, and there are exclusive free bonuses up for grabs!
