Cronos: The New Dawn features Cronenberg-like monsters that combine if left alive

In the upcoming game from Bloober Team, titled “Cronos: The New Dawn,” the developer is set to delve back into original narratives and settings. This new horror-sci-fi intellectual property is due for release soon, and this week we’ve been given a sneak peek at what to expect. A gameplay video has been unveiled, showcasing the game’s exploration, combat, and the terrifying creatures players will encounter. Furthermore, these monsters appear to possess an intriguing feature – they strengthen by merging with weakened or deceased allies, transforming into more formidable beasts.

This week, Bloober Team unveiled a sneak peek into the gameplay of Cronos: The New Dawn through a fresh trailer. In this preview, we traverse twisted terrains, extraterrestrial locales, and advanced facilities, clad in spacesuit attire and armed with a gun. The weapon is crucial, as the trailer demonstrates a variety of squirming creatures reminiscent of David Cronenberg’s films or John Carpenter’s The Thing. However, the trailer also emphasizes that failing to eliminate enemies promptly could lead to an unwelcome shock, with the warning “DON’T LET THEM MERGE.

It appears that creatures can merge with each other, growing stronger, faster, and more robust. This means if you defeat one opponent, it’s wise to maintain distance from their remains as another, potentially more formidable adversary could emerge, posing a greater threat.

In October 2024, during the Xbox Partner Showcase, Cronos: The New Dawn was officially unveiled. This is a fresh intellectual property from Bloober Team, who had a successful partnership with Konami in creating the Silent Hill 2 remake.

Since there’s no confirmed launch date for the game as of now, keep an eye on our site, specifically the “Cronos: The New Dawn” topic at Shacknews, for future updates as they become available.
