Starz has officially unveiled the launch date for the upcoming spin-off series titled “Outlander: Blood of My Blood“, a prequel to the widely acclaimed period drama that focuses on the passionate love tales of Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser’s ancestors. This announcement precedes the airing of the original show’s eighth and concluding season.

The original storyline is about a prequel that focuses on two sets of lovers who struggle against numerous obstacles, as their romantic journeys unfold throughout different periods. From the battlegrounds of World War I up to the rough landscapes of 18th-century Scotland, these two destined couples battle the forces trying to keep them apart, connecting in unexpected and unpredictable manners.

When is the Outlander: Blood of My Blood release date?

The upcoming Outlander spin-off titled “Blood of My Blood” is set to premiere on Starz this coming Friday, August 8th. In this series, Harriet Slater (Pennyworth) and Jamie Roy (Condor’s Nest) will star as Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, while Hermione Corfield (The Road Dance) and Jeremy Irvine (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) take on the roles of Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp. The cast also features Tony Curran, Sam Retford, Conor MacNeill, Rory Alexander, Seamus McLean Ross, Jhon Lumsden, Allison McKenzie, among others.

The show is created and overseen by showrunner Matthew B. Roberts, drawing inspiration from Diana Gabaldon’s popular book series. Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis, who initially developed the series for television through their production company Tall Ship Productions, serve as executive producers. The production companies involved include Story Mining & Supply Company and Sony Pictures Television, with Gabaldon herself contributing as a consulting producer.
