Adolescence Beats Dahmer to Become Netflix’s 3rd Most-Watched Show

Nearly a month since its debut on Netflix, the series “Adolescence” created by Jack Thorne and starring Stephen Graham has kept setting new records. It has now taken over as Netflix’s third most-watched English TV show ever, pushing aside “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” which featured Evan Peters, to claim the third spot with a remarkable number of viewers.

Adolescence is Netflix’s third biggest English language series

Among the English TV shows on the streaming platform, Adolescence has earned the third highest number of views with a total of 124 million.

Furthermore, according to data from Netflix’s Tudum, the limited series managed to secure the second highest viewership among all English TV shows this week, attracting a whopping 9.7 million viewers.

Debuted on March 13, 2025, “Adolescence” centers around the narrative of Jamie Miller, a 13-year-old who finds himself under arrest for the alleged murder of a schoolmate. As events progress, a web of secrets begins to unravel, adding layers of complexity to Jamie’s predicament. The series particularly highlights the impact on Jamie’s family, whose lives are thrown into disarray due to his imprisonment.

Since it first hit the screens, the psychological crime drama series has been met with an avalanche of praise and admiration from critics. Rotten Tomatoes rates it at an astounding 99%, reflecting this acclaim. The show’s positive reception appears to have significantly fueled its success on Netflix, as indicated by the steadily increasing number of viewers tuning in.

Besides diving into Adolescence, I’ve also found myself captivated by a couple of documentaries on Netflix this week. The first one is Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing which took the top spot on the English TV chart with an impressive 9.8 million views. Another fascinating series that grabbed my attention was Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer, helmed by Liz Garbus. It managed to secure a respectable sixth place in the same category with 3.8 million views.

Currently, Wednesday’s first season is at the top of the English-language TV show chart, followed closely by Stranger Things’ fourth season. Coming in third is an unspecified adolescence-themed series, with Jeffrey Dahmer’s story (#4) and Bridgerton’s first season (#5) not far behind. Each of these shows has amassed more than 113 million views.
