Turner, known for his work in television, is currently fighting a rare type of bone marrow cancer. Remarkably, due to the absence of any apparent symptoms, he has not yet started any treatment. During a recent interview on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, he shared that “I feel fantastic. I won’t need treatment until symptoms arise, so I have regular blood tests now on a six-month schedule. I’m feeling hopeful because my doctor mentioned that when I turn 75, we might need to monitor me every three months instead. This suggests that the doctor anticipates my life expectancy to extend for a few more years at least. But overall, I feel terrific,” as reported by People.

In December of 2024, Gerry Turner made a public announcement about his health issue. Previously, he had been informed during a medical check-up for a shoulder problem that he had Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia, a type of cancer originating from white blood cells in the bone marrow.

During the interview, Gerry Turner expressed how his cancer diagnosis has reshaped his perspective on life. In essence, he conveyed that since receiving this diagnosis, he views every day as a gift and an opportunity to live as if it could be his last. He’s more inclined to accept new experiences and is becoming increasingly open to emotions, finding excitement in the journey of life.

Regrettably, despite significant strides in modern medicine, they haven’t found a way to eradicate the disease Turner unluckily developed.
