It appears that OpenAI, a pioneer in the AI field within technology, seems poised to venture into the social media sector with a future undertaking. According to recent reports, OpenAI is rumored to be developing a social network intended to compete with established platforms such as X and Facebook.
A well-known tech publication, The Verge, recently revealed that a new social media platform is being developed at the company behind ChatGPT, OpenAI. This platform seems to be constructed using the most recent version of ChatGPT’s image-generation technology, although it’s important to note that it’s currently in its early development stages. According to The Verge’s sources, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has been actively soliciting opinions from outside parties regarding this project.
A potential social network from OpenAI might challenge both X and Facebook. It’s unclear at this point whether the proposed social feed from OpenAI will be integrated into the ChatGPT app or developed as a standalone platform. In February, Elon Musk unexpectedly proposed buying ChatGPT, to which Sam Altman responded by offering to acquire X instead.
According to current reports, it’s unclear if OpenAI will launch its social network, as there’s a possibility that it may not be released for public use.
