SS Rajamouli has significantly contributed to the rise of pan-Indian cinema by producing hit movies like Baahubali and RRR. With his movie RRR: Behind and Beyond set for release in Japan, he recently traveled to the country to publicize it and connect with fans. During a Q&A session, when asked about upcoming Telugu films that excite him, Rajamouli mentioned three that he feels could further propel the Telugu film industry.
The individual listed Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s project, titled “Dragon,” along with Spirit starring Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Ram Charan and Buchi Babu Sana’s film Peddi as his top choices. However, it was the use of the title “Dragon” for NTRNeel’s movie that garnered significant interest from online users. Currently, a video of SS Rajamouli confirming the title is gaining traction on various social media sites.

These partnerships are creating a significant buzz because of the unusual combinations and the possibility of appealing to a nationwide audience. The film by Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel, tentatively named Dragon, is currently in production and slated for release next year. Likewise, the movie Peddi, featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, is also being filmed and will hit theaters on March 27, 2026.
The movie titled “Spirit,” starring Prabhas as a police officer, is yet to start production. Notably, this project is Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next film following the acclaimed success of “Animal” featuring Ranbir Kapoor, generating significant anticipation.
After wrapping up his promotional activities for RRR: Behind and Beyond in Japan, SS Rajamouli is preparing to resume work on SSMB29. This film, starring Mahesh Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, will be his next project. According to TopMob’s earlier reports, the movie is scheduled for release in Summer 2027, with principal photography continuing until mid-2026.
