In simpler terms, the actor Rajinikanth has begun working on his next movie titled Jailer 2, which was filmed in Kerala recently. He was seen there because he was shooting an important scene for the film. Additionally, his previous co-star and actress Ramya Krishnan is also part of the project, as she will portray his on-screen spouse in the movie directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
On her Instagram Stories, the actress from Baahubali posted a selfie from the set of Jailer 2. She joyfully noted that this day held an additional significance for her, as it coincided with the 26th anniversary of the release of her movie Padayappa, where she acted alongside Rajinikanth.

Ramya Krishnan announced that it’s been 26 years since the release of “Padayappa,” and she has begun shooting for “Jailer 2” on its first day. For those who may not know, Ramya Krishnan’s portrayal of an antagonist in “Padayappa” is legendary, and her performance continues to be celebrated by fans as a classic favorite to this day.
Moving forward with Jailer 2, this eagerly awaited follow-up features Rajinikanth as the main character in a movie set for release in 2023. At present, the entire production is in high gear, with some action sequences already wrapped up by the team.
In Jailer 2, our beloved actor will reappear on-screen as ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian, a highly acclaimed figure who once served as a prison guard. Tragically, he has lost his solitary son, a policeman.
In the movie, it’s Anirudh Ravichander who creates the film’s soundtrack. Apart from Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan, there are actors such as SJ Suryah, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa Menon, and others in the cast.
Regarding other works by Rajinikanth, he’s likewise garnering attention for the upcoming film “Coolie,” directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, scheduled to be released on August 14.
A new action movie is set to compete with Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 at the box office, as both are slated for release on the same day.
