Samuel L. Jackson & Fantastic Four Director Team Up for Man of War

Legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson has officially agreed to take on the starring role in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming Western thriller titled “Man of War.” The film will be directed by Tim Story, known for his work on Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, who is also one of its producers.

Most recently, Jackson made an appearance in Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist miniseries alongside Kevin Hart, as well as in the Western crime film The Unholy Trinity with Pierce Brosnan. In the latest season of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur animated series, he reprised his role from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Nick Fury. Upcoming projects for Jackson include the sci-fi comedy Afterburn with Dave Bautista, the action comedy The Honest Liar featuring Edgar Ramirez, and the action thriller The Beast alongside Joel Kinnaman.

What is Man of War about?

The film “Man of War” presents a story where Jackson portrays a highly respected general who has recently retired, returning to his small-town Georgia roots following the loss of his wife. Upon arrival, he discovers his hometown grappling with corruption, urban development, and racial tensions. Leveraging his military tactical expertise and combat abilities, he embarks on an unyielding crusade against both the town and the wealthy tycoon profiting from it.

As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share that the narrative is guiding “Man of War” from a screenplay penned by Sheldon Turner. This upcoming movie will be jointly produced by Jennifer Klein and Turner under 100% Productions. Vicky Story from The Story Company has been appointed as an executive producer for this project. At present, there’s no confirmed release or production start date set for “Man of War”.
